Grimm’s Fairy Tales by Brothers Grimm

Grimms' Fairy TalesGrimms’ Fairy Tales by Jacob Grimm

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I have the paperback for this but found it hard to read because of the small font, so I listened to an audiobook version instead. It wasn’t as complete as I thought, but it had most of the story. All stories are entertaining, and some are quite shocking that you wouldn’t think of them as children’s stories.

The Cabinet of Curiosities by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child

The Cabinet of Curiosities (Pendergast, #3)The Cabinet of Curiosities by Douglas Preston

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Amazing read, one of the best books in the Pendergast series. The action was continuous, and there were several plot twists. The ending is a pleasant surprise.

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain

The Adventures of Tom SawyerThe Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I have a paperback of this book, but listened to the audiobook version while working since I don’t have a lot of time lately to read. It was an interesting book. Quite entertaining on some parts. I know this was written a long time ago but some of the language is still shocking. He has some quotable quotes that can still apply today. The humor actually reminds me of J.K. Rowling. Then again, Mark Twain must have inspired a lot of writers, probably including Rowling herself.

Triptych by Karin Slaughter

Triptych (Will Trent, #1)Triptych by Karin Slaughter
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I love this book. It’s scary and violent at some parts, made me cringed. The author has a talent for building characters, you can’t help but care for them. I’m glad I got the rest of the series in my to-read pile.

The Burglar on the Prowl by Lawrence Block

The Burglar on the Prowl (Rhodenbarr, #10)The Burglar on the Prowl by Lawrence Block

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

It’s an entertaining book, the funny and witty dialogues are typical of Block. The story kind of moved a bit slow, so it took me a while to finish the book. I breezed through the last 50 pages or so, but then again I seem to do that to all books so I can’t really give that as a positive for this book.

Kill Alex Cross by James Patterson

Kill Alex CrossKill Alex Cross by James Patterson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I liked the plot, especially the one about terrorism. It felt like I was reading an episode of 24. My only complaint is that the title is kind of misleading. You would think that the antagonist’s main goal is to kill Alex Cross, but that’s not the case at all. Still, it’s a pretty good read, finished it in a week, which in my reading meter these days is pretty good.

Hilarious most of the time, my jaw hurt because I was always smiling. Some jokes were repeats and I’ve read before, but all in all the book is good.
