Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I would like to mention that thanks to losing Internet for a day, I was able to have the time to finish this book. I liked the book because it was not only a personal story of Steve Jobs, but also a history of all the companies and products he worked on, such as Apple and Pixar. There are some inspirational stuff inside that is worth remembering. I only gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because there were some parts that did not interest me, which kept me from finishing this book sooner.

I only read this because it’s a classic, and I want to know if I will like it. It’s not my favorite genre, and even though I was entertained in some parts, I found most of the plot boring. Maybe it requires “studying” but I am the kind of reader who reads books to be entertained.

Also, I listened to the audio book version while working, so maybe it contributed to me not enjoying it so much? But I don’t think so. I probably would not have finished the book this fast if I were reading it.

The Burglar on the Prowl by Lawrence Block

The Burglar on the Prowl (Rhodenbarr, #10)The Burglar on the Prowl by Lawrence Block

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

It’s an entertaining book, the funny and witty dialogues are typical of Block. The story kind of moved a bit slow, so it took me a while to finish the book. I breezed through the last 50 pages or so, but then again I seem to do that to all books so I can’t really give that as a positive for this book.

Triple Threat by Jeffery Deaver

So this is a collection of 3 short stories, so it was a very fast read. I would have given this a 5, but I just didn’t like the last story, “Paradice.” I am reminded of why I don’t collect Jeffery Deaver’s John Pellam books. I just don’t find the character engaging enough. I love the twists in all 3 stories though.

Another fast read for me. This was a great read, although you may have to suspend reality for a bit. A lot of the twists sound impossible, but I read Jeffery Deaver’s books for the excitement and the surprises, and I got them, so I can’t complain. First book to finish this 2013! 1 down, 49 to go! Woohoo!
