Daniel X: Demons and Druids by James Patterson and Adam Sadler

Daniel X: Demons and Druids (Daniel X, #3)Daniel X: Demons and Druids by James Patterson

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This was better than the last one, probably the best of the series. Still, it’s not “great”, just good. Loved the time-traveling powers he learned, and also the mythology around England.

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain

The Adventures of Tom SawyerThe Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I have a paperback of this book, but listened to the audiobook version while working since I don’t have a lot of time lately to read. It was an interesting book. Quite entertaining on some parts. I know this was written a long time ago but some of the language is still shocking. He has some quotable quotes that can still apply today. The humor actually reminds me of J.K. Rowling. Then again, Mark Twain must have inspired a lot of writers, probably including Rowling herself.

Daniel X: Watch the Skies by James Patterson and Ned Rust

Daniel X: Watch the Skies (Daniel X, #2)Daniel X: Watch the Skies by James Patterson

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

An ok read. I wanted to say this is worse than the first book in the series, but that sounds bad, and I am not comfortable dissing my fave author’s works lol. I still don’t like the main character that much, so finishing this book was a more difficult than the first. What probably carried me through was the action scenes and the light humor. It could probably use a little more plot twists.

The Dangerous Days of Daniel X by James Patterson and Michael Ledwidge

The Dangerous Days of Daniel X (Daniel X, #1)The Dangerous Days of Daniel X by James Patterson

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

You can rely on James Patterson to come up with a fast-read book. This was a young adult novel, probably his first? It’s his answer to the recent popularity of YA books. It’s sci-fi, so that’s different from his other works. I kind of don’t like the main character Daniel, I thought he’s arrogant. The other characters are likeable though.

In other news, I think I am all caught up with my Goodreads challenge. I’ll continue reading this series to put some buffer when I start reading my other, thicker books.

I love this book. It’s scary and violent at some parts, made me cringed. The author has a talent for building characters, you can’t help but care for them. I’m glad I got the rest of the series in my to-read pile.

Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë

Wuthering HeightsWuthering Heights by Emily Brontë
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I listened to the audiobook version of this. At first I found it boring but as the story progresses, I became a bit entertained. Some of the actions of the characters were shocking, especially if you’re like who likes to imagine the 1800’s as a time of ladies and gentlemen living in castles. The story of revenge is intriguing, and you can even compare it to a soap opera. I’m pretty sure there are a lot of symbolism in this book, as is the usual case in classic novels, but I am not one to delve into them.
